Your Social Media Marketing Daily To-Do List

If you are like most business owners, you want to have a strong online presence. You do this by having multiple social media accounts that you try to keep up with each day. But it is not easy giving your best efforts to your online accounts when there are so many of them: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Google+ (just to name a few). It can quickly become overwhelming to handle all of your social networking tasks.

In order to see real results from your social marketing, you have to spend real time with it every day. It's not like creating a website that you create and then let sit on its own for a while. You have to spend a little time every day with it in order to see it grow.

The key to making sure you are getting everything done for your social media is to set up a to-do list. When you give yourself a checklist of things that need to be done each day, you can figure out how much time you need to accomplish everything and set that time in your schedule.

Here is a daily checklist of what you need to do each day with your accounts:

Sign in to your accounts

This is a simple one. Make sure you have all of your log in information handy so that you can sign in to your accounts easily. Once you are signed in, you are ready to start your tasks.

Check for comments, messages and replies

The reason social media is so great for business is that it lets you interact and engage with your customers instantly. People are going to try to connect with you at all hours, so it is important to see them and respond as soon as possible.

Do any necessary damage control

Actively look for any complaints or negative reviews online. When you find them, take time to try and rectify the situation with the customer. Even if you do not win that person back over, potential customers will be able to see that you made an attempt to resolve the problem.

Add new content

You should have a goal of posting new content to all of your networks every day. It does not always have to be something you create yourself. You can share articles that you find interesting or helpful. Post a video or image. Ask your followers a question. You can use tools like HootSuite to schedule your posts to help simplify the posting.

Connect with at least three followers

Social media gives you a way to connect with customers everyday. Take the time to build on those relationships by reaching out to them often. It can be something as simple as a reply to their comment or liking an image they share.

Connect with three new people

You can also reach out to people who do not follow you yet. It's a way to introduce yourself and grow your network. This can be done with a retweet or replying to someone's post on Facebook.

Watch for relevant mentions

Check to see if anyone is talking about your business, your competitors or just the industry in general. Take part in discussions and connect with people in order to build on your reputation as an industry leader.

Come up with more ideas

Take a little time to brainstorm some new ideas for posts to share in the future. Keep a notebook or computer file that is just for these ideas so that you have a little bank of ideas to go back to when you need inspiration.

Check your metrics

When you put a lot of effort into your social media, you want to know that it is paying off. Watch your analytics to see what the results are each day. Look at how many followers you have. How much of your content (and what types) are being shared, liked, and commented on?

Taking care of your social media marketing each day does not have to be a hassle. Set up a to-do list for the tasks you need to complete each day and you will be on top of your game.
